Homeschooling investigation
Author: Katie Criss
Educators, Parents, Students lend me your ear, my name is Katie Criss and I'll talk about education at home with you. There is currently a very intense debate on the subject of homeschooling in America. Today I will present my views on this issue crucial. When I say "my point of view:" I do not put a finger in the air to see which way the wind is blowing the issue of home schooling. I know there are two parties, and supporters of the two .. Instead, I will I present my views on the opinion and research on why I am a critic School-house.
When I put the question: how do you think of home schooling? The first time I thought: "Why would we do if I researched exactly like that, what are the reasons to explain why they choose and Homeschool how valid.
One reason is that often the research is that parents teach their children at home because of violence in public schools. My answer is yes, there is violence in public schools, however, there are many preventive measures are taken to prevent violence and most schools have adopted a zero tolerance policy. The parents justify reciting isolated incidents to help build their case for teaching home. My message to parents who use this excuse to validate is to first ask the question, is violence in my neighborhood. I am sure if you live in Harlem, New York, from South Park, Pennsylvania, will not be a huge difference in crime in the region. My next question is how do you expect to protect your child against the dangers of society? Homeschooling your child is an attempt to isolate the parents their children the world stories of fear. If you're worried about your child being bullied, what happens when your child becomes an adult who knows a conductor Bullying? This is a true story of the world, children must be exposed to different people. Why? Simple, because nobody in this world is the same.
After much research and learning that parents question the safety of their children in public schools, I question the safety of room-school children. From this research, I concluded that the laws of home schooling can now people who abuse children to maintain social isolation, so that abuse and neglect go unnoticed. To support this assertion until I quote a few of many incidents.
Smithfield, North Carolina, October 13, 2003. A sign hangs on the wall reads home sweet this is not home, adjust. In the room, 14 years Brandon had committed suicide after killing his brother and sister. Yes, these children were at home at school, but the real point of this story is that Warren had educated their children at home before, in Arizona, where They were convicted of child abuse. An investigator in Arizona reported that children were tortured physically and emotionally. However, this is information that school officials in North Carolina are not required to collect. In fact, since home schooling became legal in North Carolina North in 1985, the number of students learning at home grew from a few hundred to more than 50,000. But there has been no change in the number of state employees to oversee the program, only three per state.
In Iowa, a father is to serve life and a mother stands trial for killing this month its 10-year old adopted son and bury him in his house in the yard. Because they were individual home schooling has noticed it was missing an entire year.
In Texas, Deanna Laney, the mother of school-home three years, told investigators that her son was beaten with stones, because he was saving them from Satan.
Another similar case is significant and that of Andrea Yates, the school house of the mother of five children in Texas who drowned her five children in the bathtub his house. Many argue that Yates was overwhelmed by the constant demand to spend time with their children because she was a parent.
For comparison, Yates and Laney, both of these mothers were religious. The two women were subjected to pressures of handling child care. Made Interestingly, both used home education for their children Christian prisoners. The two "talked with God." Both mothers say Fundamentalist Christians who sacrificed their own children of God. "Each child Andrea Yates, as Ms. Laney, were home-schooled and had biblical names. These are two examples that are very similar, mothers and ill mental confidence at home with their children and give them education. Which brings me to my conclusion, tell parents to school their children at home to give them a better education, then public schools can give. My question is: how can a parent qualified to offer their children an education? education in the parents Home not set curriculum to happen, but do not worry, you can simply buy books on the Internet entitled "Homeschooling for Dummies" if have problems that need solving problems. I like to refer to educators and educators for the future and ask the question: Can you replace your studies a do-it-yourself book dummies? I'm sure if you could then this is the way of study, rather than long hours of tedious work by an academic institution. To pursue a career, even in education in the State of Pennsylvania, should be available free space, which show a clear background check, pass Praxis tests to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of at least 4 years of teaching at least a 3.0 GPA, a speech and hearing test, hours of observation, teaching students and supervised credit lifelong learning to maintain their certification in the field. However, for school at home in California, the only requirement is that parents are informed they will be home schooling your child. The scores contained only teach that parents are "capable of teaching". Even more shocking is the state of Texas, which houses both Andrea Yates and Deanna Laney, has no requirements for home schooling, parents actually did not even notify the state Education is at home. They must have the skills to teach. That's all, if they want to be a teacher, they are!
Note that each state is different. In South Carolina, the regulation of color moderate parent must have at least a high school diploma GED or high to teach. However, New York, which is considered high regulation, no qualifications are necessary. Therefore, if a parent does not even graduating high school in New York are still qualified to teach their children from secondary materials. I conclude from this information that a child can go as far as their parents, and in some cases that may not be far off. Therefore, these children are deceived a valuable lesson.
I was also asked to have a father as a teacher … teach their children their bias? In the objectives of an institution must ensure that the material taught is oriented towards free. However, in a house a parent is free to choose, some knowingly, others unknowingly teaching their children their own prejudices. In a world that culturally diverse, it must be exposed to different people and situations in order to appreciate our differences. However, if a student had trained, and prejudices which were virtually closed minded to accept these differences. Similar to this problem is that both lead me a valuable question is how parents home schooling can justify the teaching of their children for each child of a child. When a student is in a public school with several different teachers use many different teaching methods. However, in house parents, especially uneducated about how to educate, would use only one method of teaching. Of course, if taught at all, not only books and videos to help. With different teachers learn to teach virtually different ways. You also learn to understand people. My question provides valuable all these issues is how children develop their skills social, if they are exposed to different people? The school is very similar to their working environment. If a child has never been exposed to an environment How will they know how to adapt? How will they react to all different people, different opinions and points of view? How to work with groups of colleagues? All these questions address the issue of socialization of children who are teaching home. Closely related is one of my big questions is how can a parent do such a crucial decision without the consent of their children to leave a world that is considered the "norm" and its place in a world which in fact are isolated? These children develop low self-esteem and I was wondering still why his parents did not send them to school for viewing the world, but they will wonder what is behind me? More important yet, these children lack the expertise offered by public schools and not have the experience that unites people and gives us a common fund. It will experience the simple things like going dancing, participate in sports that benefits all school, school meals, a lock on his locker, a ride on a school bus, recess, to see your school to be canceled television snow, and all other events, But the character training that can take place in public life, students of the school.
Finally, American citizens and we will promote our prestigious and renowned public school and the crusade against the indulgence of home schooling that consequently earnings our country by providing good education for all.
