The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective Parents Special Needs

Have you noticed how some parents with special needs seem to be not only survive, but to do good? Even with the challenges they face each day and a heavy burden on their time and energy, are happy, organized, energetic, all-around "put together" people – and almost never seem anxious or stressed. What are their secrets?

Not that the particular needs of their children are less severe. And because that these parents have not only naturally good character.

From my own experience as a mother with special needs, observation of peers with special needs to parents and see what works best for my clients, I have discovered over the years it takes to be a "Special needs very effectively to parents.

Parents of special needs children life manageable, balanced and happy using a set of skills to the call of 7 Habits Of Highly Effective Parents Need Special. You can learn these skills, as I did there years, and my clients as they do today.

So … What is highly effective with parents with special needs do? Although each has its unique blend of what works best, here are the commonalities that I noticed that permeates the lives of parents:

1. They rest a priority.
Highly effective for special needs parents are in bed 10 hours or earlier, almost every night, even if means leaving something unfinished. Parents whose children have irregular sleep patterns nap whenever possible to compensate for the night and wakes up before dawn.

2. Have the time to eat.
Highly effective special needs parents do not skip meal – and eating delicious and nutritious meals. They get the whole family involved in meal planning weekly or monthly. They also tend to stay hydrated by drinking water all day.

3. They find support.
Highly effective for special needs parents to help with smaller things, as often as they can, from anyone, anywhere, can: family, friends, neighbors, agencies, organizations and the community. Hired help if necessary, and find creative solutions to help barter with family and friends. They belong to support groups for special needs children and disabled, and are in close contact with other families with special needs of their region.

4. Save your time carefully.
Highly effective special needs parents know they must be cautious on how many activities are for, and choose to participate in activities which are only those who are nearest and dearest to their hearts. They save most of their free time for what really matters to them most.

5. This schedule social calendar.
Highly effective needs special parents regularly visit with friends, and also with your spouse or partner. They take the time and effort to train nannies, relatives or friends about how to care for their children so that their social time can be as fun and carefree as possible. This advantage of respite services in your area you need a break. Hours of social time is weeks or months in advance and then do what is necessary for this occur.

6. They eat their own needs and interests.
Highly effective special needs of parents to make time for exercise – Hiking, biking, walking, stretching, exercise videos, including gymnastics. practice with several friends. They participate in activities creative and entertainment that can be formed in small moments here and there throughout the week. And have time for intellectual pursuits as well as reading or take a course in personal growth and enrichment.

7. Intentionally techniques of stress reduction practice.
While all are good habits to reduce stress, very efficient with special needs to parents to reduce stress one step additional practicing deep breathing, meditation, or anything that helps them develop their internal reserves and to cultivate inner calm. Highly effectively to special needs parents also set aside time each day to ignore the goals of therapy and issues of discipline, and relax with their children, enjoy them just as they are.

I have seen time and again: the more you practice these 7 habits the most productive and efficient than you, the more you are able to control everything comes your way, and things are taking place in your life. Many of these habits on the excellent care of yourself, so you can continue to care for their children and family.

It is well known that when parents are under stress, balanced life, children do better socially, emotionally and school. Try some of these 7 habits, starting today – You'll be amazed at the difference – you, your children and your family.
