What causes speech delay? What kind of programs are available for children with this problem?

My son is three years speech delay. He went to a speech last week, when he tested his speech and hearing. I am very worried about it. She gave me some brochures and worksheets. But I would seek professional help, guidance in this situation Thanks. Any advice?.
